## Abstract Wholeβbody NMR imaging antennas (probes) are strongly affected by the inevitable magnetic and controllable dielectric losses. Using a convenient parallelepiped model, the magnetic losses are evaluated. By introducing the βideal power gain,β the best possible antenna performance is delim

β¦ Synopsis
Fifteen patients with urinary bladder carcinoma were examined by computerised tomography parallel with conventional urography before, during and after radiation therapy. Computer tomography gave better diagnostic information in the cases in which the tumour had encroached upon, or was growing outside the bladder wall, and was equally as valuable as urography when it was located wholly within the bladder. The scans were of great value as a guide in the planning of computer-aided radiation therapy.

Physical parameters and the clinical experience obtained in one year with a new whole body scanning system are presented. Advantages and disadvantages of this system are described in comparison with a large crystal scanning camera. The whole body scanner has two detectors each an array of ten crysta
