✦ Synopsis


The present contribution assesses the value of different possible experimental strategies that could be adopted when applying moment methods to evaluate adsorption parameters in packed beds. It is shown that both the conventional method developed by Kubin and Kucera and the technique involving moments of the complementary step functions can be used. However, by means of a propagation error analysis it is shown that pulse size optimization is advisable in order to obtain the adsorption parameters with improved accuracy.
