At 540ยฐC, H,S (0.1 to 5 mm Hg) diminishes the initial rate of pyrolysis of C,H, (50 mm Hg) into C,H, + H, and, even more strongly, the rate of appearance of the traces of nC,H,; on the contrary, the initial rate of formation of the traces of CH, is practically not modified. A mechanism is proposed
