Data are presented which demonstrate that the o-N-benzoyk-arginine ethyl ester rate assay procedure, based on a burst titration with N-benzyloxycarbonyl-L-tyrosinep-nitrophenyl ester as previously described (1). is an accurate and reliable method for determining the normality of papain in solution.
