β¦ Synopsis
By means of gas chromatography-selected ion monitoring-mass spectrometry using an isotope-dilution assay with 4,5,6,7-tetradeutero-indole-3-acetic acid as the internal standard, indole-3-acetic acid has been estimated to be present in aseptically cultured gametophytes of wild-type Physcomitrella patens (Hedw.) B.S.G. at a level of 0.075 microgram g-1 dry weight or 2.1 ng g-1 fresh weight.
