## Abstract A method for the determination of total 3โ€chloropropaneโ€1,2โ€diol (3โ€MCPD) in edible fats and oils was presented. 3โ€MCPD was released from 3โ€MCPD fatty acid esters by transesterification with NaOCH~3~/methanol. After derivatization with phenylboronic acid, 3โ€MCPD was determined by GCโ€MS.
