โฆ Synopsis
The essential oils from the aerial parts of Satureja boliviana Briq. and S. brevicalix Epl. (Lamiaceae) from Cusco Department, Peruร , were obtained by hydrodistillation in 1.03% (v/w) and 0.96% (v/w) yields related to dry weight. By GCยฑMS analyses, 65 compounds were identiยฎed in both oils. Oxygenated monoterpenes constituted 81.5% and 87.0% of the oils of S. boliviana and S. brevicalix, respectively. In both oils, menthone (24.2% and 35.7%) and isomenthone (29.7% and 25.1%) were the main components. For S. boliviana, some dierences were found compared with oil analysed in earlier studies, which could suggest the possible occurrence of chemical types.

The essential oil of Satureja brownei (SW.) Briq., was studied by GC and GCยฑMS. A yield of 0.12% of oil (v/w) was obtained. The main constituents found were pulegone (64.3%), menthone (20.2%), isomenthone (3.4%) and isopulegone (2.4%).
The essential oils from Salvia aurea L., Salvia ianthina Otto et A. Dietr., Salvia iodantha Fernald and Salvia cinnabarina M. Martens et Galeotti were analysed by means of GC/MS. A total of 89 components were identified and the variation of composition during the year of the first three species was
