The volatile constituents of Perovskia atriplicifolia Benth. (Lamiaceae), collected in Pakistan, have been characterized by means of GC, GC±MS and 13 C-NMR spectroscopy. Out of 19 compounds identi®ed in this oil, the monoterpenes, D 3 -carene (22.3%) and 1,8-cineole (27.5%) amounted to 50% of the to

✦ Synopsis
The composition of the essential oil of Aristolochia brevipes Benth. has been investigated by GC and GC±MS. b-Pinene (20.6%), camphor (18.5%), dodecane (14.0%), 1,8-cineole (5.0%), and a-calacorene (5.0%) were the main components. The oil was characterized by the presence of a high percentage of monoterpene compounds.
