✦ Synopsis
A wide-range semiempirical equation of state for aluminum applicable both at near-normal conditions and in dense plasma is presented. The finite-temperature Thomas-Fermi model is used for the thermal contribution of electrons thus diminishing the number of fitting parameters and giving information about a mean ion charge. The constructed equation of state agrees with majority of available shock-wave data.

## Abstract A quartic equation of state (EOS) [Yun et al., Fluid Phase Equilibr. 2001; 187–188: 275–298] is used for predicting critical properties of pure substances. Parameters in the EOS are rewritten as functions of temperature (__T__ in K), and there are totally eleven substance‐specific const
