## Abstract The reaction of 8โ€methoxypsoralen (1) with dimethyldioxirane in methanol at 25^ยฐ^C yields the methanol adduct 3, namely the 2,3โ€dihydroโ€2โ€hydroxyโ€3,9โ€dimethoxyโ€7__H__โ€furo[3,2โ€__g__][1]benzopyranโ€7โ€one, whose structure was unequivocally assigned by means of spectroscopic data. Methanol
