✦ Synopsis

Catalytic properties of dimeric molybdenum(VI) triketonates were compared to those of MoO,(acac), in the epoxidation reaction of cyclooctene and 1,5cyclooctadiene with tertiary butyl hydroperoxide. Studies of the reaction at a molar ratio of olefin:TBHP:catalyst = l:l:O.OOl for the monoolefin and 1:2:0.001 for the diolefin at 40 and 80 "C in dichloroethane were carried out. The dimeric Mo(VI) complexes preferentially catalyzed the production of a monoepoxide.
