## Abstract Raman spectra of bacteria can be used as highly specific fingerprints, enabling discrimination at strain level. __Pseudomonas aeruginosa__ strains can be strongly pigmented, making it difficult to obtain high quality spectra of such isolates due to high fluorescent spectral backgrounds.
