Membrane inlet mass spectrometry has been used to determine the effect oยฃ oxygen on methanogenesis in samples from a rumen and an anaerobic digester. A membrane covered Photobacterium prob% in conjunction with the mass spectrometer, was used to measure low (~> 30 nM\_\_) levels of dissolved oxygen.
