<p>For some time there has been a strong need in the plastic and related industries for a detailed, practical book on designing with plastics and composites (reinforced plastics). This one-source book meets this criterion by clearly explaining all aspects of designing with plastics, as can be seen f

โฆ Synopsis
This Handbook is one in a series containing basic information and fundamental data useful in the design and development of Army materiel and systems. The handbooks are prepared for the special use of the design engineers and scientific personnel in the Government and industry engaged in the design, development, and upgrading of Army equipment, materiel, components, and techniques. This 1975 Handbook deals with a specific class of fiber reinforced plastics/composites. The composites cover a broad range of physical properties. The composites cover a broad range of physical properties. They include the continuous fiber reinforced materials that have exceptionally high strengths and moduli of elasticity. The short discontinuous fiber reinforced composites, which comprise the subject matter of this Handbook, are at a lower strength level. It is the purpose of this book to acquaint Army personnel with the characteristics of these materials. Emphasis is placed on the close relationship between material properties and the associated processes for fabricating these materials.
