A fractionation method for isolating the polycyclic aromatic sulphur heterocyclesfrom complex mixtures of polycyclic aromatic compounds was evaluated with respect to recovery for selected standard compounds. It was found that recovery varied from 0 to 70% depending on the structure of the compound.
