✦ Synopsis
Emission spectra of tram-and cis-1.3.5hexatricnc radical cations have been obtained in the gas phase by controlled clcctron impact excitation. Tbc band systems arc assigned to the x 2Bg + x 2Au and x 2Aa -, 2 lB8 transitions of the cations of the trans and cis isomers. rcspcctivcly. by rcfcrcncc to their photockctron spcctra&and arc compared to tbc laser photodissociation data on these cations. The lifetimes of the lowest vibrational lcvcls of the A states have been measwed to bc 17 f 3 ns and < 6 ns for the cations of the trans and cis isomers, rcspcctivcly. The decay of the x states is unique for large polyatomic radical cations as both the dissociative and radiative channels arc observed.

We report the first observation of the laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) excitation and dispersed fluorescence spectra of the A 'Bi-2 'Ai transition of germylene radicals. GeH2 and GeDs radicals are produced in a supersonic free jet by the ArF excimer laser ( 193 nm) photolysis of phenylgermane and p
Long vibrational progressions are observed in the electron impact energy loss spectrum of NOa in the 1 S-4.1 eV energy loss range. These progressions can be assigned to the 1 'Ba + % \*Al transition and suggest that the 1 \*Bs state is asymmetric.
