✦ Synopsis
A novel compound with PC triple bond, phenylmethylidynephosphane (2), was produced by pyrolysis and trapped at −196 °C. The educt (1) decomposes almost quantitatively into (2) and Me~3~SiCl in a Hg‐diffusion pump vacuum at 700 °C; the educt (3), on the other hand, only yields (2) at 800 °C. Solutions of (2) are stable only at low temperatures; at 0 °C the half‐life is 7 min.
