✦ Synopsis

The partial conductivities of electrons and holes in yttria stabilized zirconia doped with 5 mol% of TiO, (STD-YSZ) have been measured by the d.c.-polarization method using Hcbb-Wagner's asymmetric cell. The partial conductivities of holes, wP, and electrons, rr,, were found to be proportional top::," and pi: ", respectively, except for U, in the low po, regime. The C" values in STD-YSZ were greater than those in non-doped ones reported by several investigators. In contrast, the c,, values in STD-YSZ were almost the same with those in the non-doped ones. The activation energy for c" at the fixed po, of 1.0 atm in STD-YSZ was smaller than that of the non-doped one, while that for u,, in STD-YSZ was ahnost the same.
