✦ Synopsis
Sorptomatic 1900 analyzer (Fisons)
. Before the adsorption measurements, the samples were degassed for 4 h at 150 C in the degas port of the adsorption analyzer. The Brunauer±Emmett±Teller (BET) specific surface area was calculated from the nitrogen adsorption data in the relative pressure range from 0.05 to 0.3. The pore size distribution was analyzed with an N 2 adsorption branch, following the BJH algorithm. The mesoporous volume was calculated between a relative pressure of 0.4 and 0.95. The TEM images were taken with a TOP-CON EM002B transmission electron microscope operated at 200 kV. Samples for the TEM measurement were supported on a carboncoated grid.

Ordered FePt 3 alloy nanowires have been electrodeposited into self-assembled anodic aluminum oxide templates. The radius of the FePt 3 nanowires is varied from 10 to 75 nm by controlling the synthesis conditions of the templates. Magnetization loops indicate that FePt 3 nanowire arrays that are 10
