EuPd 3 S 4 with a NaPt 3 O 4 -type structure was investigated by X-ray di4raction, 151 Eu MoK ssbauer spectroscopy, magnetic susceptibility, and speci5c heat measurements. In this compound, Eu 2Ψ‰ and Eu 3Ψ‰ ions exist in the ratio of ca. 1:1. The Debye temperatures of Eu 2Ψ‰ and Eu 3Ψ‰ were determined
