The possibility of electron-transfer (ET) biradiul formation in the ground state is investigated in relation to the oneelectron transfer mechanism in so-called ionic reactions. The difference between the electronic properties of ET and homolytic biradiuls is also discussed on the basis of the molecular orbital and intermolecular configuration interaction methods.
