✦ Synopsis
Osovanadium(lV)
compleszs with Schiff bases (bi-, tri-and tctmdentate Lignds) were investigated by EPR. On the basis of the experimental spin hamiltonian parameters the dependences of the chemical bond on the @aand nature as well 3s solvent character were obtairxd. The isotropic contact term is a measure of covalency for this type of compound. Zero-field splitting panmeters were obtained for dimeric complexes of tridentate Schiff bases.

## Abstract Multiple‐scattering‐Xα MO‐calculations are reported for Co (acacen). The results are essentially in agreement with extended __Hückel__ calculations and EPR. data. Particular emphasis has been placed on the calculation of the electronic structure and one‐electron properties, __i.e.__ sta
