We have extended the range of electron mobility mcasuremcnts in dense helium gas at 77.3'K to pressures of 40 atm and at 160Β°K to 80 atm. Coexisting high and low mobility branches were found at both temperatures, mrrespondinp, we believe, to free electron and "bubble" states.

Electron mobibties m dense etbane gas are inthpreted m terms of a multxple scatteilng model, whereby the work fimc hon duft V. IS used for the energy tit mside the gas. By using gsphase momentum transfer cross section, the chauge III densty-normalned mobility with density at 36Β°C can be described se

Rydberg absorption spectra of methyl iodide, CH,I, in hydrogen-argon binary mixtures of density (2.16-3.14) x 10" cm-3 are reported. The Rydberg energy shifts, normalized to a total density of 1 X 1021 cmm3, vary linearly with the mole fraction of the binary mixture. Reservations concerning this lin
