โœฆ Synopsis

Electrochemical investigation of the interaction of vitamin K 3 (VK 3 ) with hemoglobin (Hb) on a Hg electrode is reported for the ยฎrst time. With the addition of hemoglobin in vitamin K 3 solution, both the reduction and oxidation currents decrease but with no change of peak potentials. The reaction of vitamin K 3 with hemoglobin forms a kind of nonelectrochemical active supramolecular complex HbยฑVK 3 . The equilibrium constant for complex is calculated as 3.75610 4 . A satisfactory result has been obtained for the determination of hemoglobin in clinical blood samples.
