Tapping mode atomic force microscopy and capacitance versus voltage measurements were employed to study the effects of electron-beam exposure on self-assembled monolayers of 10-undecenoic acid. It was established that exposure increases chemical/mechanical stability, resulting in a thicker layer fol

✦ Synopsis
Akstract--The electrochemical polymerization of 10-undecenoic acid via the Kolbe reaction was studied in methanol:pyridine (1:1). Besides the expected dimeric coupling product (ct, ~o-eicosadiene), soluble oligomeric and insoluble infusible polymeric products were formed in 25% yield, by attack of the free radicals, formed from oxidation of the carboxyl groups, on the vinyl double bonds. Due to the multiple functionality of the reactants, crosslinked polymers were formed.

## Abstract The melt grafting of 10‐undecenoic acid (UA) onto a linear low‐density polyethylene (LLDPE) was studied. The grafting reaction was performed in a thermoplastic mixer and 2,5‐dimethyl‐2,5‐di(__tert__‐butylperoxy) hexane was used as initiator. The concentration of UA and peroxide ranged f
## Abstract The synthesis and characterisation of several functionalised polyethylenes, obtained by direct copolymerisation of ethylene with 10‐undecenoic acid (UA), have been carried out. Two metallocene complexes of __C__~s~ symmetry with different bridges were used: a dimethylsilyl bridge comple
