The electrochemical oxidation of nitrite ion dissolved as sodium nitrite in dimethylsulphoxide on a rotating platinum disk electrode, in the temperature range 2544Β°C is reported. Main reaction products are NO\*. NO, NiO. and dimethylsulphone. The anodic E/I curve shows a limiting current which is di
