Electrooptical modulators using the linear electrooptic effect on ADP, KDP, DKDP, and LiNbO, crystals have been developed. The modulator of the Billings cell type needs a modulation voltage of some kV. Its great advantage is a large aperture and a simple construction. For the modulation of a laser beam MLZand MLY-45 modulators are recommended. For the 70% modulation they need only 180 respectively 100 v.

Es wurden elektrooptische Modulatoren entwickelt, die den linearen elektrooptischen Effekt von ADP-, KDP-, DKDP-und LiNb0,-KristaUen ausnutzen. Der Mo- dulator vom Billing-cell Typ erfordert eine Modulationsspannung von einigen KV. Sein groBer Vorteil ist eine groBe Apertur und die einfache Konstruktion. Fur die Modulation eines Laser-Strahls werden MLZund MLY-45-Modulatoren empfohlen. Fiir eine 70%ige Modulation benotigen sie nur 180 bzw. 100 V.
