Mortars containing volume fractions of aggregate less than 0.35 were prepared at w/c = 0.35, 0.40, and 0.45 and hydrated for 1, 14, and 28 days. Mortar electrical conductivities were determined by impedance spectroscopy, and the experimental data were fitted to the polynomial, where, (I, is the mort

β¦ Synopsis
The electrical resistivities of four different cements have been found to exhibit very different age dependencies. These differences cannot be readily explained in terms of their compositions and water/cement ratios. Therefore, in order to gain some understanding of the charge carrying process in cement and, thereby, explain the differences in cement type, a new experimental method of measuring electrical resistance has been developed. This technique provides information on the polarization of the cement resulting from the applied electrical field as well as giving both a.c. and d.c. electrical resistivities.

The relative tendency of different portland cements to remove chloride ions from the mix water by forming chloro-complexes is an important factor in the study of the corrosion of the embedded steel. ## Abstract Concrete resistivity is directly related to relative humidity (RH) and is also affected by temperature. In this paper, a theoretical discussion about how these two factors affect resistivities of concrete and mortar is provided. Moreover, experimental results on sensorized mortar probes
An investigation of the hydration behaviour of ordinary Portland cement clinker in the presence of coal, coke, and charcoal has been carried out. The physico-chemical characteristics of cement are greatly influenced by these materials. The water requirement and setting times are increased. The 1-28
