A ¨ibrating metallic conical probe has been used in near-field microscopic measurements to obtain optical resolutions much smaller than the wa¨elength. Numerical simulations of these complex problems ha¨e drawn most of the attention in the past. We propose here an analytical expression for the elect

✦ Synopsis
Different schemes of dispersion compensation and the cascadability of chirped fiber gratings as dispersion compensators are in¨estigated. It is found that the coupling apodization profiles ha¨e great influences on the cascadability of the fiber gratings. In addition, we found that the optimal fiber input power is different for different schemes.
