โœฆ Synopsis


Planar waveguides were produced in single crystals of BaTiO 3 by thermally controlled implantation of helium or hydrogen. Their waveguide properties were investigated by dark line mode spectroscopy. The refractive index profiles were reconstructed by an inverse Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin (WKB) procedure, and were in good agreement with the ion depth profiles calculated by the TRIM simulation program. Moreover a broad infrared absorption band was found for H รท-implanted samples.
