The phytopathogenic pseudomonad P x d m o n a s syringae pv. phaseolicola possesses an isomerase which converts mannose to fructose. The synthesis of this enzyme is constitutive. The KM value for mannose is 0.02 M. F 2 + ;M$+ and Mn2' ions stimulate the enzyme activity, whereas Cu2 + and ZnZ+ iones
