✦ Synopsis

Dihalogen-benzocyclobutene ( I ) , die aus a,cr,d,cr'-Tetrabrom-o-xylol relativ einfach zuganglich sind [21, wurden mit den entsprechenden primaren aromatischen Aminen in Dimethylsulfoxid als Losungsmittel und Triisopropanolamin als Hilfsbase umgesetzt; dabei entstanden (3u) und (3b) in Ausbeuten bis zu 40 %. Dieses Verfahren laRt sich infolge der rclativ hohen Reaktionstemperatur nur zur Darstellung der thermisch besonders stabilen N-Arylisoindole anwenden.
