✦ Synopsis
Eigenschaften der Hexokinase aus der SCP Hefe Candida maltosa H (&ryegangen o m 31.1. 1884, revidiert eingPgun.getL W I L 2. 3. 1884) Hexokinaso I (Hex I) and I1 (Hex 11) were pa.rt,ially purified from glucose-grown yeast Cu,nditlrc. tna, ltosa H. The isocnzymes catalyzc the phosphorylation of glucose ( K , = 2.0 . 10F4 for Hex I and 11) with ATP ( K , = 6.3 for Hex 11) and of mannose ( K , = 3.0 . 10F for Hex I and 3.3. 10F3 for Hex 11). No rcxction was found with GTP, UTP or ITP as substrates. From the metabolites tested as effectors at pH 8.2 ADP inhibits Hex 1 and Hex TT in a cliffercnt manner. Phosphoenolpyrnvate activatcs Hex I, isocitrate, lyxose, xylose, ribose, galactose a,nd mannose-6-phosphate are activators for Hex 11. The different K , va.lues for ATP might bc of physiological importa.nce for thc rate of formation of glucose-6-phosphate under different growth conditions, especially 0,-limitation. Thus it niay

## Abstract More than 27% of the cell wall are unstably bound components: Proteophosphomannan as a main polysaccharide of the cell wall, mannose and manno‐oligosides which are bound to peptides or phosphate. 19% are glycosidically linked with a phosphate bridge or 0‐glycosidically (Ser/Thr) linked
