Abstract
An Ybβdoped Sc~2~O~3~ crystal grown by the heat exchanger method provided extremely high pump (62.2%) and slope (72.7%) efficiencies in a continuousβwave (cw) laser operating either at 1041.6 or 1094.6 nm depending on the output coupling.
