This paper investigates the possibilities of cost reduction in packaging logistics, from primary package, to secondary package to transport module. The paper highlights the fact that packaging optimization based on space utilization and packaging optimization based on the total cost are different. Finally, a Windows@-based software package COPS is described to assist the packaging designer and logistics managerto develop efficient packaging design in logistics.
