The rates of alkaline phosphatase-catalyzed hydrolyses of p-nitrophenyl phosphate and cY-naphthyl phosphate are depressed by serum albumin. This complexes with the substrates, thus decreasing their concentrations available for catalysis. An expression has been derived describing the influence of alb

β¦ Synopsis
Assays of cyclic A L W typically employ a Scatchard-like data analysis to estimate the total binding protein RT and the dissociation constant K& The linear regression procedure employed is statistically ad hoc because the response variable (bound counta) occurs on both sides of the Scatchard equation.
The alternative analysis presented here is derived fro,m the cyclic AMP binding reaction. The resulting data analysis, employing non-linear least squares, resulta in estimators that 011 the basis of Monte Carlo studies have less bias and greater precision than the Scatchard method.

The polarographic method of Tadao Hata has been studied as a means of estimating both primary and secondary binding of organic mercurials on proteins. p-Chloromercuric benzoate and ethyl mercuric hydroxide were found to bind strongly with native crystalline egg albumin in a molar ratio of 2 : 1 whil
A method of analyzing the result of continuous ultrafiltration experiments to obtain protein-ligand binding parameters is presented. This method employs a nonlinear least-squares regression algorithm coupled with a model of protein-ligand binding which alloww the computation of free ligand concentra
