This investigation considers the reaction of carbon-black agglomerates which are formed during the combustion of carbon-black slurry fuels. A monodisperse stream of agglomerates (75 ~m initial diameter) was observed in the postflame region of a flat-flame burner, operating at atmospheric pressure. M
