Abstract
The effects of aging treatments on the microstructure of the Niβbase superalloys INβ738 HC and INβ738 LC were investigated. Changes in (i) size, morphology, and distribution of the Ξ³β²βphase, (ii) the amount of M~23~C~6~βcarbide, and (iii) the occurrence of additional phases and phase instabilities were quantitatively determined. The results indicate the possibility to deduce an unknown thermal history from the observed microstructure.

## Abstract The effect of crystal orientation on the microstructure of a nickelβbased crystalline superalloys during directional solidification was explored. Differently oriented crystals with [001] and [011] orientations were fabricated with seeding technique. The results showed that primary dendr
