To evaluate the role of zinc status in immune system dysfunction in diabetic animals, the interleukin-2 production and the lymphocyte mitogenic response to phytohaemagglutinin, concanavalin A and lipopolysaccharide were measured in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats, diabetic rats treated with ins
