## Abstract Blend plastics based on soy protein isolate (SPI) strengthened with alkaline lignin (AL) in the weight ratio of 10:0 to 5:5 were prepared with 40 wt % glycerol as a plasticizer by compression molding. The structure and mechanical properties of the blends were investigated by wide‐angle
