A detailed analysis of the volatile hydrocarbons obtained from the reaction of benzene and AICI, was performed. Several experiments point to the intermediacy of phenylcyclohexane as a primary product. 13C-12C exchange was observed using a 1:l mixture of 13C6H6 and '\*CsHs. Hydrogenation was predomin
