Abstract

The liquid chromatographic separation of some biogenic amines and their metabolites with a reversed‐phase ion‐pair system has been optimized. The effects of the nature of the stationary phase, the column temperature, the pH, and the ion‐pair reagent concentration of the mobile phase have been investigated. The most striking result is the influence of the column temperature on selectivity.

An automated high-performance liquid chromatographic method has been developed that allows for the determination of a number of compounds related to catechol- and indoleamine metabolism. The compounds that can be measured include L-DOPA, dopamine, dihydroxyphenylacetic acid, homovanillic acid, 3-met

This paper examines the effect of temperature on the chromatographic separation characteristics of anti-HIV agents, didanosine and stavudine. As a result of lowering the column temperature, an improved resolution between didanosine and stavudine peaks is observed. Thus, lower temperatures may permit
