β¦ Synopsis
Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) synthesis in mouse brain was demonstrated following the intracerebral injection of nicotinamide (500 mg./Kg.). Animals which received mescaline hemisulfate (LOO mg./Kg.) 90 min. prior to nicotinamide were found to have higher levels of brain NAD at the 2 and 3 hr. time intervals.

However, the best studied function of Ub is the labeling of proteins committed to rapid degradation, by an ATPdependent pathway. We previously found that this pathway is operative in the central ner
