## Abstract We report on depression of superconducting transition temperature of YBa~2~Cu~3~O~7~ (YBCO) layers, when their thickness is reduced in proximity to ferromagnetic insulating La~0.885~Sr~0.115~MnO~3~ (FI‐LSMO) layers in [FI‐LSMO\*8 u.c./YBCO\*__n__ u.c.]~16~ superlattices, where __n__ = 1
