## Abstract The cytostatic action of non‐immune, activated peritoneal rat macrophages (AM) on tumor targets largely depends upon the duration of their culture in vitro. AM show full cytostatic activity for the first 12‐24 h of culture followed by gradual loss. This distinctive pattern of cytostatic
