โœฆ Synopsis

The effect of the addition method of an inducer (o-phthalate) for the enhancement of 4,5dihydroxyphthalate (DHP) production was examined using Pseudomonas testosteroni. The reduction of the lag phase seen when inducer was added in the ยฎrst 10 h of growth culture did not affect the maximum production rate of DHP. The optimal inducer concentration was about 2 g dm ร€3 and the rate of DHP production was about four times higher that achieved in the absence of inducer. The fed-batch production of DHP was also carried out and 8 g dm ร€3 of DHP was obtained.

4,5-Dihydroxyphthalate (DHP) production was carried out using Pseudomonas testosteroni immobilized in alginate gel beads. Strontium chloride was more suitable for a gelation agent with regard to DHP production than calcium chloride or barium chloride. The optimal gelation time was about 0.5 h, and t

## Abstract The effect of intraperitoneally injected taurine against the convulsive activity induced by 4โ€aminopyridine (4โ€AP) was studied in 12โ€ to 15โ€dayโ€old mice. At a dose of 2.6 mg/kg, taurine increased the latency of clonic seizures from 7 to 20 minutes, reduced the incidence of tonic seizure
