## Abstract A simple photonic scheme is presented to generate microwave/mm‐wave sources by utilizing the optical heterodyne technique between an optical carrier and its Stokes light coming from stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) in optical fibers. Stable microwave sources with the frequencies of
