β¦ Synopsis
On addition of various cyclodextrins, the increase in solubility of some salts of biological interest has been monitored using electrochemical concentration cells. A mathematical model has been developed to calculate the equilibrium constants for the formation of inclusion complexes composed of the large, organic anions inside the cyclodextrin cavities. One stability constant determined by this method has been verified by visible spectrophotometry.

In this investigation, salt effects on monomeric solubility and distribution are separated from self-association for caffeine. For self-associating compounds, the Setschenow equation is inadequate because it does not separate salt effects into their different contributions. Solubilities of caffeine,
The kinetics of crystallization and dissolution of lead chloride was studied using the pressure-jump technique with conductivity detection. A single relaxation was observed in an aqueous suspension of lead chloride. From examination of both kinetic and static results, the relaxation observed was att
