✦ Synopsis

Isolates of basidiomycetes have been studied for the production of extracellular cellulases in submerged shaken cultures using whole sugar cane bagasse (without delignification) as substrate. Cultures produced maximum exo-B-l,4,glucanase (FPD), endo-fi-l,4,glucanase (E.C.3.2.1.4.) (CMCase) on the 4 -5th day and /3-glucosidase (salicinase) (E.C.3.2.1.21.) on the 6th day of fermentation. Production of these enzymes could be manipulated for maximum yields by implication of selected cultural factors like growth medium, incubation condition, pH of fermentation, particle size of bagasse and various additives.

BACKGROUND: Ten isolates of anaerobic fungi of Piromyces genus from wild cattle and blue bulls (five isolates from each host species) were evaluated for their fibrolytic ability in pure culture, their suitability for use as a microbial additive in buffaloes and their effect on methane emission. ##

The purpose of this study is to differentiate roles of several growth factors and cytokines in proliferation and differentiation of pulp cells during development and repair. In human pulp cell cultures, laminin and type I collagen levels per cell remained almost constant during the whole culture per
