✦ Synopsis

The Board of Directors of the Association for the Education of Teachers in Science has entered a partnership with Kluwer Academic Publishers to publish JSTE. This partnership is an effort to accomplish the Association's goal of making JSTE the premierjoumal in the field of science teacher education. As you undoubtedly noticed when you received your issue last quarter, this has resulted in several changes in the format, cover, and presentation of JSTE.

In addition, thepannership with Kluwermoves JSTE into the international arena. We are pleased to be a part of this exciting transition and have high expectations for the continuing development of JSTE. The Publications Committee, under the leadership of Cheryl Mason, should be applauded for their hard work in accomplishing the transition to Kluwer.

We also want to thank the membership for supporting us and JSTE this past year. During 1995, we received 59 manuscripts. Currently, we have an acceptance rate of 53%. In 1996, we will continue our original mission of JSTE to promote an interchange of practical information and ideas regarding professional development in science teaching. In an effort to fulfill this mission, we now have several sections to provide a wider forum for the exchange of issues relating to the professional development of teachers of science--Feature Articles, Model Programs, Innovations in Action, and Dialogue Comer. We continue to encourage you to submit yourmanuscripts to us for any of these sections.

As Volume 7 evolves, we would like to welcome our new and returning members to the Editorial Review Board. We now have 35 members on the Editorial Review Board. This not only reflects the new international status of JSTE but the growth of JSTE as well.

As always, we welcome your suggestions and comments. We will be particularly interested to hear from you concerning the changes you note in JSTE. Thank you again for your support.
